Kniphofia Uvaria: Torch Lily 
Kniphofia Uvaria is a species of flowering plant native to south Africa, and has been introduced to many other prts o the world including North America, Australia, New Zealand, Patagonia, and Europe. It typically grows to heights of 3-4 ft, with a bloom time of May to June. It's common name refers to its striking red inflorescence, and it is also known as the Red Hot Poker due to its resemblance to a frightening torture device.
