This model is intended for those who need nothing less then the highest photorealism for cinema quality renders.

The Oligocene is a geologic epoch of the Paleogene Period and extends from about 34 million to 23 million years before the present (33.9 ± 0.1 to 23.03 ± 0.05 Ma). As with other older geologic periods, the rock beds that define the period are well identified but the exact dates of the start and end of the period are slightly uncertain. It refers to the sparsity of additional modern mammalian faunas after a burst of evolution during the Eocene. The Oligocene follows the Eocene Epoch and is followed by the Miocene Epoch. The Oligocene is the third and final epoch of the Paleogene Period.

This is a scientifically accurate rendering of the earth millions of years ago in the Oligocene period . Notice that the continents are of a different shape then they appear today. The shape of the continents is what scientist believe they looked like during this time frame.

It is the best choice available for cinema quality renders of the Oligocene Period and other visualizations depicting continental shift.

The maps (8000x4000) are so detailed, you can see natural rivers and lakes throughout the continents. These rivers and lakes are procedurally placed using a new method I developed so they are very natural looking and they span throughout the entire high resolution image. The maps look as if they were from a satellite looking down on the earth during that time period.

The Oligocene Maps presented in this model are a one of a kind. You will never see such a high detailed texture maps anywhere else.
