Описание

Japanese Five Story Pagoda: a high-detail Japanese five-storey Buddhist pagoda (goju-no-to) of the Edo period (1603 to 1868) at real-world size (12.9 x 14.0 x 28.5 m), 493,916 triangles.

A five-storey Edo-period Buddhist pagoda about 28.5 m tall: four roofs of hongawara clay tiles with onigawara ridge ends and a top roof of patinated copper sheet (doban-buki), curved eaves with upturned corners and wind bells, three-step mitesaki bracket sets under every eave, white plastered walls between timber posts, lattice windows and plank doors, an engawa veranda with giboshi-capped railings on the ground storey and a granite platform with steps. On top, a bronze sorin finial with nine rings, the dragon car (ryusha) and the jewel (hoju). No signs or inscriptions.

Details:
- Built piece by piece: every roof tile, rafter, three-step bracket set, board, post and stone is its own part with softly bevelled edges.
- Blender file: the original procedural PBR materials, exactly as rendered in the gallery: hinoki, keyaki and weathered timber, white gofun plaster, hongawara clay tiles, patinated copper and bronze, granite, with a variation per piece, ambient-occlusion grime and subtle noise.
- 3ds Max, FBX, OBJ, glTF and USD: the same look baked into 6 unique 4096 px PBR texture sets on a non-overlapping UV: Base Color, Roughness, Metallic, Normal (OpenGL and DirectX), AO and packed ORM.
- A generic building of the period: no signs, brands or trademarks.
- 493,916 triangles, 310,691 vertices; one object; ground at z = 0, front facing -Y, metres, real-world size.
- Exterior model; the interior is not furnished. High-poly hero asset for close-ups, film and visualisation: no LODs or collision meshes.

Part of a new Edo Japan series: temples, shrines and town buildings. Also see the Japanese Buddhist Temple Hall.

Formats: Blender 3.2+ (native, procedural materials), 3ds Max 2022+ (Physical Material), FBX 7.4, glTF 2.0 binary (textures embedded), OBJ and USD (UsdPreviewSurface); the exchange formats use the baked texture sets. Maya and Cinema 4D users: import the included FBX or USD.

All renders shown were made in Blender Cycles with the included Blender file; no post-processing.
