Hello! It’s been nearly a week since my last update. We’re already approaching the end of April.

The 3D model I’ve completed this time is the F-84 Thunderjet. Developed by Republic Aviation in the mid-to-late 1940s, this fighter-bomber was widely deployed across NATO nations and remained in service until the 1970s.

During its prime, the F-84 served as a primary strike aircraft for the U.S. Air Force, playing a significant role in the Korean War. It holds the distinction of being the first aircraft capable of carrying the Mk.7 'Thor' tactical nuclear weapon, as well as the first production aircraft to feature air-to-air refueling capabilities.

Specifications:

  • Crew: 1
  • Length: 11.60 m
  • Wingspan: 11.10 m
  • Height: 3.84 m
  • Wing Area: 24 m²
  • Empty Weight: 5,200 kg
  • Loaded Weight: 8,200 kg
  • Max Takeoff Weight: 10,590 kg
  • Max Speed: 1,000 km/h
  • Cruise Speed: 770 km/h
  • Range: 1,600 km
  • Ferry Range: 3,200 km
  • Service Ceiling: 12,350 m

Armament:

  • 6 × 12.7 mm M2 Browning machine guns
  • Up to 4,450 lb (2,020 kg) of rockets and bombs
  • 1 × Mark 7 nuclear bomb

To be honest, the reason I’ve focused mostly on warships is that aircraft and tanks are a bit trickier to build. Since I don't create them often, I lacked the same level of familiarity I have with naval vessels. However, making only warships felt a bit repetitive—and from a business perspective, it wasn’t always the most profitable—so I decided to tackle a fighter jet for a change.

Perhaps because it’s an early-generation jet, the modeling process was surprisingly straightforward. I was able to finish it in just four days, and I'm very satisfied with how the quality turned out. I’m looking forward to creating more aircraft in the future, starting with these early jets.

P.S.

My next project is Yoon Young-ha class fast missile ship. An old classmate from both elementary and high school commissioned it!
