These plants are created by the very experienced modeler Konstantin Kim and sold exclusively by Xfrog. Kim (aka 3d Mentor) works in 3ds max GrowFX, and sets up shaders for Corona, VRay, and FStorm. ALL plants, for the first time EVER, have GrowFX (gfx) files included, and WIND, and all models and wind can be procedurally edited! Polycounts range from 100k to 600k. Pseudotsuga Menziesii: Douglas Fir

The Douglas Fir is an evergeen conifer species in the pine family, native to western north America. Despite its common name, it is not a true fir, spruce, pine, or hemlock - the genus name Pseudotsuga means "false hemlock". Douglas firs are medium-size to extremely large evergreen trees, 70–330 ft tall and up to 8 ft in diameter. The bark on young trees is thin, smooth, grey, and contains numerous resin blisters. On mature trees it is very thick and corky, growing up to 14 inches thick with distinctive, deep vertical fissures caused by growth. The female cones are pendulous, with persistent scales, and Douglas fir seeds are an extremely important food source for small mammals such as moles, shrews, and chipmunks, which consume an estimated 65% of each annual seed crop.
