Preview images are rendered with 3DsMax 2015 - Vray3.5
Other than V-Ray, no other plugin is needed to work with this scene.
Plants are created using V-Ray Proxies. For such scale, scene is relatively light and easy to work with.
Plants are organized with layers so you can hide or isolate them. It's also very easy to adjust each individual plant ( move, rotate , scale, delete , clone, change materials etc.)

Dimension: ~6000 m x ~6000 m x ~600m
Built to real-world scale.
This model uses a scale of 1 unit = 1 meter

You're able to tune down the turbosmooth on desert plane or remove some of the plants, however to render the scene as it is, you'll need around 12 GB of rams.

Most of the textures are generated from high quality and procedural Substance materials. Textures are in variety of resolutions from 2k up to 8k.
Including the V-Ray Proxies, there 22 files inside texture folder.
