This is an extremely detailed film quality model of a Mazda RX-8 built using Polygon modelling.

Unlike somemodels, the wheels and hubcaps are precisely modelled allowing extreme close ups.

The model also includes detailed engine, underside, inner doors, trunk, engine and a simple interio.

Maya and OBJ files are Polygons and need to be smoothed for the highest rendering quality.

This maya file has this setup automatically using Mental Ray"s Approximation Editor.
Each object has it"s own approximation node so you can choose how much you"d like it to smooth if at all based on how close the camera is.

This means that the model is low-resolution so that it"s quick to move, choose your camera angle, but then it will automatically smooth at rendertime.

This can be altered by simply deleting the Mental Ray Approximation nodes.

The Maya files include basic Maya/Mental Ray Shaders.
All previews were rendered in Maya2010 using Mental Ray

Logical and unique naming is applied to each object.
