Aircraft P-40 family of fighter planes in need for a maneuverable dogfighter. The
P-40B or Tomahawk IIA are revised versions of the P-40: had extra machine guns
in the wings and a partially protected fuel system. It was produced in numbers
for the US Army Air Corp as a front-line fighter, then US Army Air Force and
then later as a second line fighter when Mustangs, Thunderbolts and Lightening
came on into service. They were sent to every area of operations and
environment on the planet.
