Gravity, with Creative Control — Everything Procedural.
Create cinematic black holes in Cinema 4D with a Redshift-powered, infinitely tuneablrig that combines physics-based gravitational lensing with extensive artistic control.
Curved light paths bend the view around the black hole, distorting galactic backdrops and revealing dramatic views of the accretion disc. Shape the result with turbulent plasma, layered emission, translucent dust, and hot orbiting particles — all from an organized set of controls.
Your own Black Hole laboratory
- Physics-based gravitational lensing*: Curved-ray tracing inspired by Schwarzschild black-hole physics produces warped backgrounds and bent views of the surrounding disc (custom OSL shader).
- Art-directable accretion disc: Choose Smooth Plasma or Chunky Plasma, then fine-tune the pattern, colors, brightness, and structure.
- Layered depth: Combine up to three disc layers on offset planes for added variation.
- Custom disc textures: Bring your own transparent PNG artwork and adjust its mapping and appearance (one map included).
- Procedural dust belt: Control density, structure, and light absorption to create anything from a subtle veil to dark, dramatic bands and chunky clouds.
- Hot glowing particles: Add detail above and below the disc, with adjustable density, size, color, and brightness. Match the disc’s palette or create your own.
- Unified animation: A master rotation control coordinates the disc, procedural pattern, dust, and particles, with relative speed controls for variation.
- Galactic HDR backgrounds: Use your own panoramic HDR imagery, adjust orientation and appearance, or work with a simple background and procedural stars.
- Geometry lensing: Include supported Cinema 4D geometry in the curved-ray effect through a dedicated refresh workflow.
- A dozen fun presets set up in Takes: Explore the universe with 12 presets presenting a range of black hole goodness. Pick one as a starting point, or simply use as-is.
- Built-in guidance: An in-scene HOW TO USE guide keeps the intuitive controls and workflow close at hand.
Designed for motion designers, space artists, science visualizers, and filmmakers who want a compelling starting point — and the freedom to make it their own.
Requires Cinema 4D and Redshift. Lensing uses a mathematically-based*, Schwarzschild-inspired model with artistic approximations. Added geometry uses a restricted shading workflow (up to 256 polys); it does not reproduce arbitrary Redshift materials.
