Created from clean NURBS surfaces on MoI/Rhino. Accurate to a real-life reference.

UV mapped and textured on Blender.

Separate parts:

• ken (stick)
• sarado (cups)
• tama (ball)
• bead (to retain string)
• string (procedurally-generated mesh follows bezier curve)

Textures:

• PBR shaders with UV-mapped textures
• source node-based texture for reference or editing

Files:

• 3dm - NURBS source file created in MoI. Mathematically-defined curves. Native format for Rhino.
• blend - Blender file with mesh, materials, and lighted scene. Textures are packed. String is procedurally generated and can be posed by editing the bezier curve which it follows. Two poses are keyframed.
• stp - STEP files also hold mathematically-defined surfaces good for CAD design and CAM production. Usable in most CAD software.
• FCStd - FreeCAD 1.0 file.
• obj and mtl - Wavefront Obj file and related material files. Exported from Blender. Usable in most modeling software. Requires textures folder unzipped in the same directory as the file. kendama_with_string.obj is very large, and includes a complex, braided string.
• igs - IGES files are outdated and the STEP variant is preferred over it when possible. Similar CAD functionality.
• fbx - Autodesk interchange format for game engine assets
