la description

Hello, dear customer and welcome to my product page!

You are looking at a highly detailed model of an antique spiral staircase, as can be found in many churches, or old buildings even nowadays. Carved out of wood and lacquered afterwards in hues of green and gold, some of the paint has started to come off here and there over the centuries.

I crafted these models after a photo reference, which I took in an old church in Denmark.

Originally modelled in Maya, I designed it so, that they would be perfectly suitable for an in-game application, meaning the polycount is kept rather low (9228 tris for the entire scene) but they would also look good in a rendering scenario, should you so desire.

The stairs consist of 5 pieces, each ranging 90°. The pieces are kept modular and snap together perfectly, so you can easily add more and merge everything afterwards, to match your scene. The railings and poles can also be used to create a horizontal handhold for the exit areas, as shown in the example renders.

So if you plan to decorate your building with an authentic staircase, look no further than here, for this model will save you a lot of time!

The model is comprised of 2 materials: the stairs and the wooden board floor.

The textures all come in either a 4096x4096 or 1024x1024 resolution and consist of the following composition:

-Albedo map

-Normal map

-AO Map which includes all the other maps in its respective channels:

-AO R channel = Ambient Occlusion map

-AO G channel = Metalness map

-AO B channel = Roughness map

-AO A Channel= Cavity map

HDRI Map included

The model is available in:

.mb

.ma

.fbx

.obj file formats.

Images were rendered in Maya 2022, Arnold 6.2.0.1 and the shaders are set up accordingly.

(Sidenote:) Since Arnold is not a game engine like game asset renderer (quote from Autodesk), I had to add an extra material with inverted normal map y channel onto the areas with flipped uvs on mirrored model parts, to avoid normal maps showing incorrectly. Bear this in mind and reapply only one of the provided materials, when exporting to game engines.

Real-life scale.

Units: cm

The original, green-painted version can be seen in the last 3 example renderings (old Maya Mental ray version).

I hope you like this model and make the best out of it in your environment. If you are happy with the model I would very much appreciate a rating on this page.

Thanks for your time and best regards,

beyond3D
