This model is a high poly model with a lot of geometric detail and high quality textures. The model includes a detailed engine, radiator, cockpit and other parts. The model has animateable features including ailerons, elevators, rudder, propeller, wheels and other components. The model includes materials and textures as shown. It also is built near to scale. Many paint scheme versions of this model are also available here. In addition this model is available in several formats.
This model is an early DIII which included a radiator mounted in the upper wing. Later versions moved the radiator to the side of the fuselage.
The Albatross D.III was a biplane pursuit fighter flown by the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) during World War I. It also served in the Austrian Hungarian Air Forces (Luftfahtruppen). It was the state of the art, best fighter of its day when introduced in 1916.
