Introduced in 1936, the New York Central Mercury was a sleek passenger train linking Cleveland and Detroit. Industrial designer Henry Dreyfuss shaped its look with Art Deco styling and streamlined features, making it one of the era’s most visually striking trains and a symbol of modern travel.
