Description

3D model of the Mark III "Fat Man" atomic bomb, a powerful nuclear weapon developed by the United States during World War II. It was one of the first two nuclear weapons ever used in warfare. "Fat Man" was detonated over Nagasaki, Japan on August 9, 1945, causing catastrophic destruction and loss of life. This event was instrumental in Japan's decision to surrender, which ultimately marked the end of World War II.
