Tyche ( Ancient Greek: Túkhe, 'Luck' )

Head of the goddess Tyche (Fortune/Luck), 2nd century A.D.

It bears a tower-like crown with relief representations of the walls of Sparta. Its a personification of the city goddess Sparta.

In literature, Tyche might be given various genealogies, as a daughter of Hermes and Aphrodite, or considered one of the Oceanids, daughters of Oceanus, and Tethys, or of Zeus. She was connected with Nemesis and Agathos Daimon ("good spirit").

She is sometimes named as the mother of Plutus, the god of wealth; usually, however, he is the son of Demeter and Iasion.
