Spotted hyena remastered 2026 edition: the original painted spotted coat with a normal map, a procedural strand texture for the mane and tail tuft, and a cleaned 36-bone rig with readable names, ready to pose or animate.

What's new in this edition:
- PBR metal/rough textures: coat 2048 x 2048 (Base Color, Roughness, Normal OpenGL and DirectX) and a procedural strand card with alpha for the 33 mane and tail-tuft cards.
- Readable bone names (Spine, Neck, Head, Ear, Tail_01-03, Front_Leg and Back_Leg chains with paws, Left/Right) instead of the 2011 names with typos.
- Real-world scale: 0.9 m to the ear tips, 1.38 m from nose to tail tip, paws on the ground.
- Native Blender scene with a render-ready studio (camera + CC0 HDRI), plus a 3ds Max 2022 scene with Physical Materials.

Geometry: subdivision-ready control cage, 3,685 polygons for the body plus 33 strand cards and two eyes (5,237 in total), with Subdivision Surface in Blender and TurboSmooth in 3ds Max.

Rig: 36 bones with skin weights in Blender, 3ds Max, FBX and glTF (body and mane cards); the eyes follow the head. Not animated.

Formats: Blender 3.2+ (native), 3ds Max 2022+, FBX 7.4 (rigged), glTF 2.0 binary (textures embedded), OBJ and USD (UsdPreviewSurface, rest pose). Maya and Cinema 4D users: import the included FBX (rig) or USD.
