Description

This is a typical East German street light, the Rostocker Straßenleuchte 1 or RSL 1. They were produced in the GDR since the 60s as so-called "Mastaufsatz-Leuchten" and they are still standing all over East Germany and other post-soviet states. It's still produced today in an updated form by 2K Moxa.

The original one I recreated stands at Michaelkirchstraße in Berlin.

There are 3 texture variants included:

  • Like new
  • Regular
  • Berlin style, with additional graffiti and stickers, matching the reference

The texture resolution is 4096x4096, the model units are in cm.

The textures for this asset use the PBR metalness workflow, but it's also usable with just diffuse, roughness, and normal maps.

My goal is to create accurate but still performant 3D assets with textures that reach the quality of photo scans. The sample renderings were rendered in Redshift, with the hdr Quattro Canti from HDRI Haven.
