The Generico Chair is a sculptural seating solution that looks like more of a work of art than a place to sit, but has been expertly designed with the help of technology to make it perfectly suited to sitting needs. The chair was designed with the use of generative algorithms that allow the chair to retain its structural integrity and provide the same level of support as traditional seats, but with dramatically less heft. This means that the ergonomic seat has been whittled away from a solid block to make it appear skeletal and stylish without the loss of any support. The Generico Chair is the design work of Marco Hemmerling and Ulrich Nether, and has been 3D printed to eliminate the need for overly complex manual manufacturing methods.
