Description

This model includes a lot of detail. Guns, depth charges, racks and mouse traps are all very detailed. The flying bridge includes the steel tubing frame that would carry the canvas cover, speaking tube and other features. This model is a high poly model and includes more than a few textures. The guns, propellers, rudders, davits, and mousetraps are animateable. All materials and textures are provided as shown here. The model is provided in several formats.

The Captains Class Frigate were a class of ships built and launched between 1943 and 1944 by the US for use in the war effort during World War II by the UK. These ships were smaller slower and did not have as much range as the fleet destroyer classes but they were easier to produce, less costly, more quickly manned and more maneuverable. More than 40 of these ships were built and saw service in the British Navy as Captain Class Frigates.

These ships included armament of three 3 inch artillery pieces, a single quad 40 mm anti aircraft gun, three torpedo launch tubes for standard M14 torpedoes and up to eight 20 mm cannons. They also carried M24 mousetrap launchers, two after racks for roll off depth charges and 6 to 8 k-gun launchers for depth charges. They also had the latest sonar and underwater search gear for anti-submarine warfare.
