Description

This is an authentic Dresden Rapier sword that has been scanned and meshed through the

photogrammetry process. This sword is part of the largest private collection of ancient arms and armor in the world. All 300+ images that were taken of this helmet were at 45 megapixels at 8K resolution and meshed in Reality Capture, cleaned in Zbrush and textured in Substance Painter.

Textures come in 2k, 4k and 8k out of Substance Painter. Texture maps come in PBR, Vray, Unreal Engine and Blender formats.

This model along with 150+ other ancient artifacts have been scanned to date and created with the photogrammetry process for the Knights Who Say Nah NFT project. The Knights Who Say Nah is a modern preservation society, fusing cutting-edge technology, immersive storytelling, and innovative thinking to breathe new life into ancient history. The Knights Who Say Nah preserve a collection of more than 6,000 artifacts across 50 cultures, spanning 6,000 years of history through photogrammetry and NFTs.

This particular rapier came from the E.A. Christiansen Collection. A
world-famous collection of Viking, Medieval and Renaissance swords. It was purchased
from Peter Finer. The Dresden rapiers were used by the bodyguards of the prince electors
of the holy Roman emperor in Dresden. During WW2 the whole collection was moved
out and stored in caves for preservation. Eventually, the collection sold off pieces in
waves and once it was in Soviet possession the arms were sold at a faster clip. The
Dresden rapiers are quite rare. Over the years, rapiers had their blades broken. Some of
the only rapiers that are positive to be homogenous are those from the Dresden collection
along with a few other royal collections. The collection was formed by the prince electors
of Saxony in Dresden in 1570-1620. The quality of the sword would express the rank of
the person. It usually came with a matching dagger for parrying as well as a musket and a
brace of wheel lock pistols.
