Description

These subs are very detailed, high polygon models and render very well.
These models are built near to scale within a few inches of actual general dimensions, fully textured and mapped. They have many animateable features including hatches, guns, rudder, rear and forward planes, antennas and propellers and hatches.

The Balao class of submarines were a successful class of submarines and a further improvement over the previous Gato Class.
They served in WWII and were successful in combat. The earlier boats were powered by 2 diesel engines and four electric motors. They could carry 24 torpedoes, the weapons varied from one boat to another and were often changed during refits. These subs saw a great deal of action in the Pacific and were very well known for their effectiveness.
