Vintage Brass Sundial Antique Gilbert & Sons London Directional Pendulum Compass Ca 1755

This is a vintage compass with sundial and pendulum so one could measure time, location and direction. This compass was modeled after an archaeological find on Roger's Island,
near Fort Edward in New York state. It was used by one of the higher ranking officers of the famous 600 men army called Rogers Ranges during the French and Indian War of 1756. It might have actually been owned by their
leader Robert Rogers.
