Notes: The White Pine (Maine and Michigan State tree, Ontario provincial tree) is a fast-growing tree intolerant of calcareous soils and stagnations. It grows of preference in direct sunlight, but tolerates also a partial shade. It poorly stands pollution and for this reason it is not used for urban decoration as extensively as it would deserve.
