Build instant atmospheres with this curated pack of five high-resolution terrain skydomes designed for use as skybox backgrounds (not HDRI). Each dome is delivered as a seamless 2:1 equirectangular panorama at 16,384 × 8,192, with optimized 8K and 4K versions. Times of day: Night, Dawn, Morning, Noon, and Overcast. Every skydome includes an alpha mask for clean skyline compositing and a Z-Depth pass to drive fog/atmosphere in comp or in-engine materials.

What separates them from others is that this is not realistic real world taken, but unique art, stylized CG terrain from inside a giant crater.

How to use

• Skybox/background:
  Set the 2:1 panorama as the environment background (spherical/equirectangular mapping). For skybox cube maps, convert to 6 faces using your tool of choice.
• Skydome mesh:
  Apply the texture to an inverted-normals sphere or hemisphere; scale large; disable shadow casting on the dome.
• Atmosphere/fog:
  Use the Z-Depth map to drive exponential height/distance fog or as a comp matte (white = far, black = near; invert if needed).
• Compositing:
  Use the alpha mask to cleanly blend skyline/horizon with your scene or plate.

Notes

• These are LDR skyboxes intended as backgrounds/backdrops. They are not HDRIs and not intended for image-based lighting. Use your own directional/sky/atmospheric lights for best results.
• Color space: standard LDR/sRGB workflow.
