The scene is a v-ray pool environment with real caustics generated. There are no fake caustics, or projected textured light. This are real caustics generated by the the reflection and refraction of light in the water surface on the scene. The scene is made in max 2009 and rendering is done in v-ray. You can use the settings i made in v-ray and set up your own caustics in your arch viz designs. Playing up with my settings and adjusting the water and lights in the scene you may be able to create a much more realistic water refractions. see more settings done in the preview.
