This is version 2 of my terraformed mars model. This update adds a more realistic landscape and water reflections. The poly count is arbitrary and depends on how much detail you want to make the spheres. All you have to do is go to the modifier rollout and increase the segments of the planet. The more segments the more round the planet gets. This is really only important for super high definition stills and movies.

This come with a model of mars as it might look like if it was fully terraformed a thousand years from now. The terrain is 100% accurate to the real mars because the height data was taken from data retrieved from the mars global surveyor.
In the terraformed version of mars the atmosphere has 3d atmospheric effects instead of a simple cloud map for added realism. Because of this the clouds cast natural looking shadows on the land and itself giving it a more natural look.

This model looks excellent in both far away and orbital shoots. It also looks great in high definition.

When you open up these files in max I have hidden all atmospheric layers so you can see the planet and pose it for shots easier. Don’t worry they will still show up when you render the scene even though you cant see it in your viewport. If you would like to re-enable them just right click in the viewport and click unhide all.
