This pack contains five detailed 120mm smoothbore shells used by NATO.

Shell Types:

  • M1028 (Canister)
The 120mm M1028 Canister Cartridge was developed for close-in defense of tanks against massed assaulting infantry attack and to break up infantry concentrations, between a range of 200-500 meters, by discharging large numbers of tungsten balls from the main cannon.

  • M830A1 (HEAT-MP-T)
The M830A1 HEAT-MP-T was developed to a replace the M830 HEAT round. It has demonstrated a 20-percent performance increase against bunkers and a 30-percent performance increase against light armored vehicles. The M830A1 uses a discarding sabot with sub-caliber warhead and a multifunction fuzing system.

  • M829A3 (APFSDS)
(Armour Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot) is the newest design of the U.S. Army’s Kinetic Energy tank cartridge. The round is proven to have outstanding accuracy and lethality. The M829A3 utilizes state-of-the-art composite sabot, propellant and penetrator.

  • M830 (HEAT)
The M830 is an American high explosive anti-tank high explosive multi purpose cartridge which has anti-armor and anti-personnel capabilities. This round is meant for the 120 mm M256 main gun of the M1A1 and M1A2 Abrams.

  • IM HE-T (HE)
The 120mm IM HE-T cartridge provides the armor forces with an improved infantry support capability. The IM HE-T will complement the tank’s current main gun ammunition with an Insensitive full-bore HE warhead capable of defeating a target set that includes bunkers, fortifications, light armor and personnel. The IM HE-T possesses a devastatingly powerful HE warhead for the modern battlefield.
