Description

Tuscan order originates in Italy. It was used by Romans and it appears also in description of Etruscan temple. It is very similar to Doric order, but has a simplier base and capital and unfluted shaft. Some sources describe the Tuscan order as predating the Doric or Ionic order. Later it remained in use in places where decoration wasn"t necessary, like warehouses, seaports, barracks, cellars, etc. The columns are robust, with a height of 7 diameters.

The model is prepared in 4 color variants (each in a single file) - an old stone, limestone, white marble and red marble column. Parts of the column are separated in several meshes to allow easy retexturing of different parts without a need of selecting exact faces. All textures are 512x512 and have assigned normal maps. Gold material requires ray-tracing on. Raytracing will also improve the appearance of marble by revealing its fresnel reflections, but it can work also without it.

Model is made by 900 vertices / 815 faces.
At smooth level 1 it"s 1536 vertices / 1472 faces (when plinth and abacus are omited from smoothing).

All 4 color variants should be ready to use and can be directly imported into your scene. Only be sure to create a group for the imported model (parts of the column aren"t grouped within the downloadable file).
Color of the column can be easily modified if needed. UVs are set to tiling, but with a simple modification can allow also a non-tiling single file texturing.
