Description

Spitfire (Supermarine)

This is my rendition of the Supermarine Spitfire.
I modeled this Spitfire in honor of my uncle who was shot down over the mediterranean in this historic fighter.

This model is rigged and animated with moving flaps, ailerons, rudder, landing gear, prop, radio hatch,
canopy and access hatch.
The scene consists of a quick twenty second animation of the startup (with backfires), takeoff and flight (with some gunfire) of the Spitfire. I also included maps for the prop blur, exhaust fire and gunshots.

The props rotate at a fairly accurate 1400rpm, and the propeller blades transition to a map of the blurred
spinning blades to avoid the extreme rendering time when using motion blur.

Thanks & enjoy!
