Maggot May Bug Fur is a three-dimensional model of specimen of larval stage of maybug insect (cockchafer or Melolontha melolontha), which is the juvenile stage of the May beetle.

These larvae have C-shaped bodies, with a creamy-white appearance and a distinct reddish-brown head. They thrive underground, feeding on plant roots, particularly grasses and young crops. Their voracious appetites can cause damage to agricultural fields and gardens. Maybug larvae undergo several molts before pupating, spending about three to four years underground before emerging as adult beetles in late spring or early summer.
