Highly detailed model of a Samurai sword-set, a Katana and a Wakizashi displayed on a Katanakake stand.

1) What's inside

In this package you get a model of a Samurai sword and dagger and their stand. The models are highly detailed. Crafted by inspecting a real life authentic Katana. The details are carefully sculpted in ZBrush and and then baked and textured in Substance Painter using a Metalness/Roughness workflow. 

Every little detail you'll find in a real Katana is there, from the Menuki (the small decoration used to hold the pegs in place) to the layering of the blade body that shows with reflections.

2) Parts, Materials, and Textures

Apart from a camera and a dome light the scene contains 3 major parent objects:

• The Katana
• The Wakizashi 
• The Stand

Each sword is composed of nine (09) parts each is a separate mesh  with a separate material:

1. The Blade (4K PBR, VrayMtl)
2. The Tsuka (handle) (4K PBR, VrayMtl)
3. The Tsukamaki (wraps) (2K PBR, VrayMtl)
4. The Tsuba (handle guard) (4K PBR, VrayMtl)
5. The Saya (sheath) (4K PBR, VrayMtl)
6. The Menuki (peg holder, small brass koi fish) (1K PBR, VrayMtl)
7. The Seppa x2 (washers) (2K PBR, VrayMtl)
8. The Habaki (blade support) (2K PBR, VrayMtl)
9. Silk wraps on the Saya (2K PBR, VrayMtl)

Each of the materials is made of the following texture maps:

1. Color map
2. Metalness map 
3. Roughness map 
4. Normal map 

3) More Technical Details

Model is made mostly of quads, Turbosmooth/subdiv modifier responsive. without any modifiers the polycounts are as follows:

• The Katana is 37K tris
• Katana sheath is 22K tris
• Wakizashi is 31K tris
• Wakizashi sheath is 21K tris
• Stand is 4.5K tris

Units used are metric (cm)

• Katana is 85cm long, blade is 62cm
• Wakizashi is 61cm/41cm
• Both sheaths are 1 cm longer than the blade
• Stand is 32cm by 24cm by 12cm
