Ango-french design collaboration with a common hull form with the CVF. The design is still being developed and this 3D model is based on the most recent released images.

Very clean 3D scene, rendered in mental ray. The scene will render as seen in the above thumnails. The bitmap textures are very high resolution - for instance, the deck is 4096x1024 pixels. The shaders are setup with decent shading networks.

Please note that the original scene file is the Maya version, and should be used first wherever possible. All other versions are conversions and will not have the same quality of shader. The obj and fbx formats will not retain full shader properties.

PA2 (Porte-Avion 2)/ CVF(F) is the planned new aircraft carrier destined for the French Navy. The project is an anglo-french design collaboration. The 'Richelieu' will be the successor to the nuclear powered Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier, currently in service with the French Navy. The vessel will displace approximately 75,000 tonnes, will be based in Toulon, France. The construction timetable for the French ship has not been disclosed although 2010-15 is most probable. These vessels will be the largest and most powerful surface warships outside of the US Navy.
