Render is done with scanline 3ds max engine. The first previews were calculated with 3ds max scanline render engine.
Real-time engine rendering previews instead show a result in a real-time game engine.(You can obtain this result, by importing OBJ or FBX files in your game engine)
Lighting is included only in the 3ds Max version, and materials may appear different in other program formats. No 3rd party plugin needed.
