Darth Phobos' Lightsaber.

Facts about Sith Lightsabers. The Sith usually constructed their lightsabers using synthetic crystals rather than the naturally occuring crystals that the Jedi almost exclusively use in their personal lightsabers. Although the Sith are opportunistic and will use natural crystals if available to them.

Facts about the Hilt.

I have modeled this lightsaber with the internal crystal chamber and other components so as to allow you to use the model in a 'construction' animation if you choose to. The model has quite a significant polygon count as a consequence. The blade of the lightsaber is a mesh as well. I find that compositing the glow in photoshop produces the best 'lightsaber glow effect' than Keyshot and Blender's materials and effects do. Nevertheless I have provided the Blend. File with the glow composite included using the Node compositor/editor. And Keyshot with an Emissive material applied to the blade to produce a glow although I had to blur the white core manually in photoshop due to Keyshot not being able to apply a gaussian blur. At least not to my knowledge.

The smoke effect on the blade is also doctored/composited in using photoshop.

Lightsaber renders with smoke effect applied in PSD format are included and can be downloaded from the 'Accompanying Product Files' or 'Supporting Iterms' category.
