The rig is pretty robust with color coding and a few shape keys with drivers. I could not get the automated tail animation to work, but that may be because I knew I was going to hand animate the tail anyways.
The deformation on the mesh is nice with the rig, and the primary material [in the Blender version] uses the principl

Normal and Displacement maps were baked from a high resolution sculpt. The head was separated and subdivided further to create an ultra-high-res normal map for the head. Each scale on the head and neck and many elsewhere on the body was sculpted by hand for maximum realism and detail.
Also included is a set of alternative textures with a different pattern. Simply replace the files in the 'Textures' folder with those from the 'AltTextures/Textures/' folder.
The UV map & textures are asymmetrical. The UV islands are scaled to maximise detail around areas that may be seen in close up (particularly around the eyes and head).

For production renders I recommend rendering at subdivision level 2 or 3.
Modelled where 1 blender unit = 1 meter.
The total dimensions of the model are 13.5m x 2.8m x 5.4m.
BLENDER RIG FEATURES:
The rig features IK and FK controls, color-coded and with custom bone shapes. The rig is designed to be intuitive and easy-to-use so you can start posing and animating right away.
The eyes can turn independently to follow tracking targets, and the pupils can be constricted and dilated. Eyelids have their own bones which can be directly animated.
A set of sliders control shape keys to fine-tune facial animation and a few other properties.
Optionally, the tail can follow a cloth sim guide layer for procedural wiggle. A custom property attached to the main armature can be used to blend between the simulation result and standard IK/FK animation, allowing you to fine tune the results to your liking. The guide mesh is located on layer 3, and can be selected to bake the simulation (recommended) and to make adjustments to the physics.
OTHER FILE FORMATS:
An OBJ and FBX version of the model are included with your purchase. These are both exported at subdivision level 0.
Since these are generic file formats, materials and rig controls cannot be included, although as the model uses PBR textures the materials should be simple to set up in your program of choice and have reasonably consistent results.
The FBX version is rigged, but rig controls are not included.
PLEASE NOTE: Textures are not included with the FBX and OBJ download files and must be downloaded separately.
Preview renders were rendered with an HDRi environment light (not included) unless otherwise stated.
