Protoceratops was a cerotopsian dinosaur, such as Triceratops and Styracosaurus, that lived in Mongolia in the late Cretaceous Period (80-85 million years ago). Feeding on plants, Protoceratops was a quadrapedal herbivore growing to lengths of 1.5m-2.5m and although they moved on all four legs, it is likely that they may have been able to stand up on its hind legs. Protoceratops distinguishing features are its bony neck frill and beak-like jaws.
