The terrain was modeled in Blender 2.9 and can be rendered in cycles (as displayed in the images above) out of the box without any setting necessary.
The model is also ready to be rendered in Eevee.
There are 4 formats available: .blend, .fbx, .obj, .dae all formats contain material information and can be imported in most major 3D software easily to obtain results similar to those in the images.
The level of detail in the model allows for close-up renderings.
The model contains a realistic planet earth model textured with 6K textures, worth 79$
The units used are meters.
The surface is a piece of Moon land of 50mx50m
-TOPOLOGY-
The model topology is based on real digital elevation models of a moon tile and further sculpted to add detail.
The base mesh contains 525336 faces and 525373 vertices.
The mesh can be easily decimated to reduce face count or subdivided to increase details.
The model includes low poly 3D rocks applied to increase detail level and photorealism.
The above images have been rendered with a subdivision modifier level 2 applied.
Using the terrain with no subdivision applied is well recommended for real-time use or to achieve faster rendering times.
Note: The model contains poles (5 or more edges converging to a single vertex)
-MATERIALS-
The model contains a single PBR material which allows it to easily be imported in any software and be ready for use.
The terrain material contains 3 8192x8192 (8K) PNG textures including diffuse, roughness, and normal.
The material PBR textures have been created by applying multiple materials on different layers and masking them accordingly. Textures were then baked.
Lower res 4K textures have been included in the texture folder for faster rendering times or real-time use.
-LIGHTING-
The scene includes the sun.
The HDRI background does not influence the lighting.
The HDRI background is also included in the file and the texture folder.
