PixelSquid’s transition to Shutterstock was driven by several factors, including storage limitations, aging infrastructure, rising operating costs, and a decline in both new content submissions and customer engagement. Moving to Shutterstock was the best way to ensure that PixelSquid content remains available to customers.
When will PixelSquid shut down?
PixelSquid will officially shut down on November 14, 2025.
What happens to my subscription?
All active subscriptions will be automatically canceled on November 14, 2025. You don’t need to take any action.
Will I get a refund?
Yes. You’ll receive a prorated refund to your original payment method based on the remaining time on your subscription as of November 14.
Can I still download my purchased assets before the shutdown?
Yes, you can continue to access and download your purchased assets until November 14, 2025. Be sure to download any assets from your library prior to November 14th as we may not guarantee access to those files afterwards.
Where can I find PixelSquid assets after the shutdown?
All PixelSquid assets are now available on Shutterstock. We encourage you to continue exploring and downloading 3D content through Shutterstock.
Do I need a new account on Shutterstock?
You’ll need to create or log in to a Shutterstock account to continue accessing PixelSquid content.
What happens to my PixelSquid account and data?
Your account and data will be securely deleted after the shutdown.
Are you still offering the Photoshop Plug in for Pixel Squid customers using Shutterstock or Envato?
Unfortunately, we won’t be offering the plugin.
