Software Executive Jimmy Roussel Joins TurboSquid as VP of Operations
(New Orleans, LA - June 30, 2007)- TurboSquid, home to the world's largest library of royalty-free 3D assets, announced today that Jimmy Roussel had joined the company as Vice President of Operations.
Roussel brings more than twenty years of experience in software company management, business development and fund raising expertise to his new position at Turbo Squid. These skills will be vital as the company expands into new businesses and markets, as with the recent beta launch of its GameFlood video game initiative (www.gameflood.com).
Mr. Roussel's previous experience includes nearly fifteen years in IT management in a variety of software and industry managerial positions. Mr. Roussel's work in software development includes over four years as CEO of ProTier Corporations, where he led the company through two rounds of venture funding to develop a virtual server management platform which was later sold to Austin Ventures. In prior positions, Mr. Roussel was heavily involved with the growth and expansion of the Laitram Corporation serving in various management capacities in both the US and Europe and has managed data centers for Integrated Data Systems. Most recently, he was a principal at New Orleans-based Elan Capital, and headed up that firm's technology division.
Mr. Roussel will manage Turbo Squid's strategic business development and manage fund raising activities.
Mr. Roussel expressed his enthusiasm for his new position with Turbo Squid: "I am thrilled to be part of the Turbo Squid team. This is an exciting time for the 3D community and I look forward to exploring the ways that we can facilitate the growth by providing tools and a platform for buyers and sellers to conduct business."
TurboSquid co-founder and CEO Matt Wisdom was equally excited about Mr. Roussel's new position. "As Turbo Squid's business grows and matures, we find ourselves surrounded by opportunities," Wisdom noted. "In evaluating these opportunities, and pursuing the most promising among them, Jimmy's extensive experience handling major deals and venture financing will be invaluable. We are very pleased to have him on board."
