Game model of a generic looking Mech walker. Created for the game artist who needs to shave days off his/her deadline.
My goal was to create a sort of 'blank canvas' so to speak for game artists. Not knowing your art style, direction or the technical specifications of your game engine, I wanted to make sure that with my model you'd be moving forward as much of the time as possible and not backwards to undo my incorrect presumptions.
The model is complete and modeled for a game engine.(hidden faces deleted and what have you, no bad geometry.) The UV's are fully completed EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ARRANGED INTO A T PAGE. I purposely left it like this to leave the final T page configuration to you. Maybe you would rather use a 2048x1024? or multiple 1024 or 2048 textures? Well with this model you get to decide whats best for you.
I condensed the UV's as much as possible where I though would be best. Everything mirrored has overlapping UV's, thats a given, but I also took it a step further as you can see in the my supporting images. If this isn't your cup of tea, fear not, the UV's are very easy to separate if you want to dedicate more T space to a certain object(if you feel it'll look too duplicated). I'm fairly confident you'll be quite pleased with the UV's though, It's a great balance of unique and overlapping t space.
