My animation created with this has 44,944 views on youtube. Search for 'powerandrubber' on youtube or download the AVI available here to see the animation. This is an animated ocean model that uses max displacement and vray displacement. Same displacement map at different uvws. Two max files are included, one to render an animated displacement map (series of EXR files at 2000x2000pix recommended, a sample EXR file is included). The other max file is the ocean scene that contains a displaced mesh, very detailed water material that is all procedural, animated vray sun/sky that goes from dawn to dusk, and an animated camera.

.)The scene should be adaptable to any advanced renderer that uses displacement.
.)Charles Hollemeersch's wave generator plugin is required for the displacement map creation scene. It is available for free from his website. If animated waves are not desired than the the included EXR image will render static waves without the wave generator plugin.
.)The water material uses Simbiont procedural textures maps for the foam available for free from Darksim.
.)The scene is set up for LWF (linear work flow). Change your 3dsmax gamma to 2.2 or adjust the vray render settings accordingly.
.)My reason for not including the animated displacement map sequence is simply because of file size. The displacement maps must be hi resolution (2000x2000pix) and in floating point format such as EXR to get smooth waves. The total sequence of 1000 frames that I rendered exceed 1gb.
