The Globe is built with Cinema 4D R18 and consists of separate mesh-layers: The water, grid, land, continent and state outlines. The connecting lines are rigged with an expresso slider setup, in order to help position and scale the curved lines. You can animate the lines with the custom sliders.
The position of the continents are estimated and mapped accordingly. If you need a 100% correct depiction of planet Earth, you shouldn't use this model.
All that's animated is the rotation of the globe. The model is textured with standard materials, and rendered with the physical renderer, AO and GI (QMC). No textures needed.
