The Common (Garden) Apple tree is a garden species derived from the Wild Apple (Malus sylvestris), a tree that can still be found in the wild in the forests of Central-Southern Europe. The most visible difference between the species is the absence, in the Garden Apple tree, of the small thorns that are present over the branches of the Wild Apple.
