Starship U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 Refit 3D INTERIORS VERSION
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is one of two versions of this model. This model has fully built 3D interiors. Also available is a smaller version of this model with flat, 2D interiors.

This is a highly detailed model of the starship U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 Refit as seen in Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. Modeled in Cinema4D over three years, and includes separate .c4d files for Octane Renderer and for standard or physical C4D renderer.
The pearlescent hull panels (Aztek panels) are modeled as geometry rather than using textures. This allows for very close-up shots.
An additional layer of graphic detail on the external hull can be toggled on or off for medium, close-up, and/or detail shots.
The deflector dish in impulse crystal can be changed from startup mode (amber) to full power mode (blue) with a slider.
External spotlights (and a few other lights) can be toggled on and off.
Navigation lights (on the saucer) and strobe lights (on the top of the bridge and the rear of the nacelles) can be switched on and off. The navigation and strobe lights are animated in the Cinema4D timeline to blink on and off in the proper timing.
RCS thrusters can be switched on and off.
The chiller grills on the warp nacelles can be switched on to simulate warp travel. When the warp drive is active, the impulse engines go dark, and when the warp drive is inactive, the impulse engines switch back on.
There are three options for internal lighting:
1. Image-based interiors can be used for medium shots and/or when some parallax is desired but full 3D interiors are not needed. These are flat panels inside the model that are textured with images from the fully built 3D interiors. The brightness of the interiors can controlled with a slider.
2. Simple lighted interiors can be used for wide shots where lit windows but no parallax is preferred. These are simple illuminated panels within the model.
3. Fully built 3D interiors are modeled for every interior that can be seen through a window or view port. These can be used for close-up and/or detail shots.
NOTE: When a full 3D interior is turned on while the image-based interiors are also on, the corresponding image-based interior will be switched off. When the full 3D interior is switched off, the corresponding image-based interior will switch back on. This interactivity does not apply to the simple lighted interiors.
All parameters mentioned above are controlled via expressions and can be animated within the Cinema4D timeline.
