This Plasma Cannon has been created with real-time rendering specifications in mind. Every edge and vertex has been looked over to maximize performance vs aesthetics.
The UVs have been 100% laid out by hand and besides maximizing UV space were laid out to be easy to visualize and edit. They also overlap where logical, and are unique where logical.
The provided texture PSD was created at 2048 x 2048, and includes 3 different baked ambient occlusion maps as layers - each rendered with different settings and with 2 different renderers for your convenience so you can get the look you want right away. The gun also brings a 'firing' version of the texture meant to swap in when activated (which can also be exposed in the PSD in its layer comps).
The gun has some parts that articulate to allow for interesting reload animations.
