This is a Piston animation, with supplied shaders and render settings for Mental Ray. Motion blur can be added by simply turning it on, but be aware the render times increase substantially.

-       Originally modeled in CAD then imported to Maya, cleaned and shaders added to the items.
-       Maya 2009 used for this file but has been tested in 2010, 2011 and 2012 and it loads and renders fine.
-       No external plugins used other than the Mental Ray renderer that comes with Maya.

Rigging / Animation
- The pistons are animated by rotating the flywheel
(RotateMaster node).

- The piston rods are constrained to the points on the engine crank.

- To move, scale or rotate the group you must use the master node to do so, otherwise the constraints break and you will need to reload the model.

Textures / Shaders / Mapping
-       Each object is textured with standard Maya shader not requiring UVs.
