This is a concept motored bicycle design I created a few years ago, about the time when the famous motoped was being created. I've been wanting to model it for some time and finally got around to it this fall(2014).

This bike started out as a simple bolt on engine kit bought from China that I bolted onto a Norco sasquatch hardtail frame, with the engine attached directly to the rear wheel. I had fun with that for a year or two but wanted more speed and gearing and suspension. So the solution was to custom build a frame from the ground up. The frame, gas tank and shift kit are all custom made. The shift kit allows the for the engine to be run through the bicycle transmission, which essentially let's you shift gears, have better low end for climbing hills and better high end for going faster. The only downside is that if the drivetrain(derailleur) isn't adjusted perfectly, then obviously there can be issues trying to run engine power through it. Surprisingly though, a standard 8 speed bike chain can take quite a bit of horsepower and abuse.

I've been riding this bike for the last few years, troubleshooting problems as they arise and it's just a super fun little rig, not that much power but it will pull you along in all your favorite trails. I also love the fact that parts for these engines are dirt cheap and in huge supply from China.

Regarding the transfer to CAD. Every part and model on this bike has been modeled from the actual physical objects, using a caliper and measuring tools and is within .001' accuracy. This is not just an estimated model, or scaled from pictures from the net. All the files are in formats that can be used for manufacturing, rendering or 3D printing so that means there is a lot of potential uses for these files. If you need to use .obj formats, there are design software packages that can convert to .obj or .3ds with little loss of quality. Deep exploration is one.


Due to the size of some of the folders and that turbosquid doesn't allow uploading of entire folders. The way you extract these files will help to keep the assemblies intact so that you don't have to spend time rebuilding the assemblies....


The files you will be downloading are zipped files containing files and folders......

1. Create a main folder to throw everything into(call it Motopedal, or motored bike etc. etc.)
2. Within this main folder, create a folder called 'Components'
3. Within this folder entitled 'components', put the following, and ONLY the following, zipped files...

Frontend.zip (large file)

........now extract each of these zipped files WITHIN and ONLY WITHIN this 'components' folder.

Within the main folder you created, extract the following zipped files.

and renderings.zip (this one can go anywhere)

Everthing you see pictured in the renderings you will recieve within this gigantic file package!
