German-built steam locomotive from 1893, complete with realistic cabin controls, brakes, valve gear and color scheme. Uses a 2-4-2 'Orleans' configuration.
This is one of the few steam locomotives on TurboSquid with realistic cabin controls! So if you're looking to render the insides of an authentic 19th century steam locomotive, then this model is for you! Just about every detail of the locomotive's exterior has been modeled using genuine blueprints, right down to the last rivet, including:
Realistic Allan valve gear, water injectors, oil firing injectors, braking system, water gauges, leaf springs, sander mechanism, smokebox ash ejector, etc. All components have been named and separated accordingly. Animating the wheel driving parts should be possible.
Materials include several modified Mental Ray materials. No texture maps included! Instead, it uses a smoke map for the black metal and a simple dent map for the coal. Model is detailed but is NOT extremely high poly, and so will have a speedy render time (provided you have a decent computer) while still keeping a great amount of details. Screens rendered in Mental Ray set at medium Final Gathering.
This is an skp import that was finalized in 3DS Max 2013. This model is not suited for sub-division. Can't be used for games or 3d printing.
