This high-detail sundial/compass with hinged parts and animatable level will bring extra detail to your imagery. Created using a combination of polygons and Catmull-Clark Subdivision Surfaces, each part is on a separate layer for easy animation and clearly-named surfaces for simple modification.
The solid renders shown here are using level 3 subdivision and the wireframe examples are at level 0. Though modeled in Lightwave 11.6 this object should work back through 9.x.
