A high resolution model of a little girl, around the age of 7.
To use, download the appropriate scene and the textures file, then place all the textures in the same file as the scene.
----------------------- 3D models The model is made from multiple objects. Some objects are made from multiple combined pieces.
The model has a skeleton and is skinned but does not have full rigging with controllers. The skeleton includes a jaw bone as well as double bones in the forearms for proper twist.
Every object has a rotation of 0 and has a scale of 1.
Polygonal hair is included so the model can be transferred between software easier. However, it has a large number of transparent layers, which means that in some renderers, the transparency settings may need to be changed to allow for more transparent layers. Also, re-doing the hair using a proper hair system may result in better look and/or performance.
Note that the shoe laces ties are made from multiple pieces and are not functional.
The corneas have triangles leading to a pole vertex, however this is not visible because it is happening on a small scale on an almost flat surface.
----------------------- Textures The body and clothes all use the same set of textures, with color, normal maps, roughness and sss textures. These textures have a resolution of 8192x8192 for maximum detail.
In the color texture, the skin will appear to have a somewhat yellowish hue. This is intentional as the skin color will look the way it should once a red sss is applied. If sss cannot be used, changing the skin color to a more red hue is advised.
Since the model is high resolution, the normal map is mostly used for fine detail and works well on any subdivision level.
Other textures include:
-a normal map for the cornea -a hair texture, which has an alpha channel. -a hair normal map, used in the Maya version.
The corneas and hair have their own UV layouts (the hair is the only object with overlapping UVs). Every other object shares the same UV layout, which is non-overlapping.
These other textures have a resolution of 1024x1024 since they are used on small areas.
----------------------- Materials The scene has multiple materials:
-The body, legs and shoes materials use the same maps, but with different sss or translucency. Depending on the renderer used and how it handles sss, the same material could potentially be used with good results. -The hair material uses the hair texture as color, transparency, and specular. Bump can be done with either the color map or normal map, depending on what works best in each software. -The cornea material is a simple glass material, but with a normal map that creates subtle variations on the outer parts of the eyes.
----------------------- File formats Blend- 2 scenes are included, for both renderers. The materials are all set and should give the exact results from the previews.
Maya- The scene is setup for maya 2018 and the Arnold renderer.
FBX- The scene is exported with the bones. Note that depending on the software, the bones may need to be fixed or redone, though the model should import correctly. The materials will need to be tweaked or redone. An other fbx file is also included with objects not parented to bones (such as hair or eyes) in case it causes problems
